OZONE CONVERTER SORBAL™
The electrode housings used in SOFTAL treatment stations are compactly designed, with special consideration for optimal process air extraction flow. A corona system with a plasma discharge operating in ambient air always generates ozone, which must be extracted. All SOFTAL treatment stations come with an extraction monitoring system that prevents activation in the event of an extraction system fault. The extracted process air mixture is then channeled through exhaust ducts and safely released into the environment.
To minimize ozone contamination of the environment and comply with local occupational health and safety regulations, the extracted air can be directed into an ozone converter. The SORBAL-K unit is a stand-alone, high-performance filter specifically designed for this purpose. Due to ozone’s highly corrosive properties, all materials and gaskets in these units are corrosion-resistant. The housing and components are either made of sheet metal with a corrosion-resistant coating or of stainless steel.
To ensure maximum efficiency in the exhaust air cleaning process, the filter housing is equipped with three inline filter stages. A differential pressure gauge, featuring a large and easily readable scale, indicates when a filter change is needed for the first two filter stages. For efficiency checks, the SORBAL-K ozone unit comes with connectors for ozone measurement devices, which are installed both upstream and downstream of the catalyst block.
