The operating concept of SOFTAL generators combines the strengths of two previous concepts. Where generators were previously only operated with a rotary switch or touchscreen display, the new series of generators combines the advantages of both designs. Touchscreen operation is used mainly for menu navigation while the rotary switch can be used to change settings and values quickly and precisely.

The generator display is also the main user interface with the overall system. A corona station is equipped with numerous sensors and actuators which supply the generator with the necessary control signals.

The Generator also implements customer-specific and special functions such as speed-dependent control of corona power (CCP), skip treatment (SCT) and pulse mode (DCR).

In addition to the generation of high voltage and the control of the corona station, the generator also acts as the interface with the production environment. Standard interfaces such as Profi-Bus and CAN and customer-specific potential-free inputs and outputs ensure that generator and station can be integrated into any surrounding and any process.

To optimize processes and to make user interactions more transparent, SOFTAL generator can be equipped with a diagnostic and operating memory, which keeps a log of the last 100 messages and user commands. This provides valuable information for the analysis and optimization of processes.

Numerous setting options and background functions ensure a safe, reliable and economical operation of a SOFTAL generator under all operating conditions.
